Mugello
It is the birthplace of GIOTTO, but it is renowned for its old-fashioned workshops where cobblers, knife grinders and potters are still popular and in full activity just outside the woodland area where people jealously maintain the traditions of the country civilisation as well as the extraordinary natural beauty of the area.
Places to see include Borgo San Lorenzo and the Manufacturing Museum belonging to the Chini family, the Wine and Vineyard Museum in Rufina, the Museum of Country Life in Sant'Agata, as well as the medieval hamlet of Scarperia.
Riding, hiking and mountain bike tours
The area surrounding Firenzuola is a starting point for several riding, mountain bike and hiking tours with routes suiting all levels of difficulty. Authorised guides are also available for excursions.
Mugello Circuit and vintage car races
The Mugello circuit hosts some of the most important motorcycling and car racing competitions (F1, Motorbike World Championship, Ferrari Challenge, etc.) and is also open to racing enthusiasts who wish to test their skills.
The winding roads surrounding the circuit provide the setting for historic revivals of important car races such as the Mille Miglia and the Antica Corsa, held yearly.
Lake Bilancino
The area offers more than just mountains! Sunbathe, swim and practise your favourite water sports on lake Bilancino and in its natural reserve.
